| Installation Instructions For High and Low Seats Mounted Into Polaris Rangers and other UTV's |
Set the High or Low seat in the bed of the Ranger or other UTV that you may be mounting this seat into. Make sure that the seat frame is centered. ( front to back and side to side)
Slide Mounting Brackets where the holes in the mounting plates are centered over the existing bed bolts in the Polaris Ranger bed. On the Club Car, Kubota RTV, Kawasaki Mule, John Deer Gator, Cub Cadet and other UTV's these mounting brackets can be moved around to a desired location to drill holes thru the bed floor.
| After all four bolts are found on the Polaris Ranger remove bolts from bed frame. |
On the Polaris Ranger you will drill these existing bolt holes out to a larger hole size. On most other units you will drill new holes thru the bed. You will use a 3/8" drill bit to enlarge the existing bolt holes or for the new bolt holes. 3/8" bolts will fit thru the bed and seat bracket.
After these holes have been drilled out move the seat mounting brackets back over the new holes that you drilled out in the bed.
| You will use a 3/8" bolt, flat washer, and lock nut to fasten thru each mounting bracket to the bed. On the Polaris Ranger you will have to remove the latching bar under the front section of the bed to tighten the two front bolt's thru the front section of the bed frame. |
| On the mounting brackets you will tighten the set bolts on the mounting slid brackets. |
| |
| At this point the seat should be mounted solid to the bed |
| Now that the seat is mounted down to the bed you will need to install the bed safety latches. THIS IS THE MOST INPORTANT THING THAT YOU DO FOR YOUR SAFTEY. Look under the bed of your ranger on the 2002 – 2005 you will see a small Black Shock Cylinder on each side of the unit; these cylinders are attached from the unit frame to the bed. Pull the cylinder pins out of both ends of the cylinder and take the cylinder out. You will replace this cylinder with a 1” x 12” Strap with holes in both ends. You will use the same pines for this strap as was used on the cylinder. You will need do both sides. On the 2006 to 2009 models you will only have One Hydraulic Cylinder and it is located in the middle of the bed it goes from the bed to the middle of the frame of the ranger just behind the transmission. This Strap is 20 ½” in length. On most of all of the other UTV there beds already have a solid latch to secure there beds down. |
After the seat is mounted solid you will raise the seat back and mount the left and right side arm rest. You will not tighten these bolts till both arm rest are installed. You may have to move set back forward or back to get bolts to go thru arm rest and seat frame.
| The side drink holder will mount to each side of the seat frame. |

- You will take out 8 Allen head bolts in four different locations, at the top section of the roll bar. The bolts will be in the front, back and each side. ( on the ranger crew it will be 14 bolts 7 locations)
After taking out the bolts you will slide the mounting brackets in between each half of the roll bar with the 2 holes in the bracket going downwards to where the bracket holes line up with the holes in the roll bar.
| Put all brackets in between the splits of the roll bars and install all bolts and nuts back into the roll bar. You will just start the nuts on the bolts. (do not tighten any bolts till after the roof is set on top of the brackets and all of the bolts that holds the roof to the brackets with nuts are started |
| Set the roof on top of brackets and install the 3/8” x 1”bolts with the rubber coated flat washers thru the pre drilled holes in roof. You may have to shift and move the roof around to get holes in roof to line up with the holes in the roll bar brackets brackets |
After all the bolts are installed you will tighten the roof bolts first then you will tighten the hex head bolts in the roll bar last.

On the 09 Ranger XP, and 500 you will use one of two different mounting brackets. This is due to roll bar changes that Polaris made to the roll bars from o8 to 09 units. Till all of the existing 08 model roofs are gone we will have different bracket kits to fit 09 XP and 500 EFI Rangers. Out of the 2 kits you may have 1 or both with each roof.
Kit # 1 08 Roof to 09 Rangers
One 2” x 5 ½”bracket that will mount to the front section of the roll bar.
One 2” x 3 ½ “bracket that will mount to the rear section of the roll bar.
Two 2” x 2” bracket that will have a 3/8” bolt wielded to the top of bracket these will mount to each side of roll bar. The bolt set will have four 3/8” x 1” bolts w/ rubber coated washers and four nuts. |
Kit # 2 09 Roof to 09 Rangers

For the 2008 and 2009 Ranger Crew
On the Ranger Crew installation, all mounting of the brackets are all installed in the same manner as the above explanation. The only different step after mounting the brackets is that you lay the rear section of the roof on the roll bar first and then you set the front section of the roof on top of the front roll bar. All tightening steps of bolts are the same as the above directions
Two 3” x 2” angle brackets that mount on each side of front seat roll bar section.
Five 2” x 2” angle brackets that mount to the front middle roll bar, middle roll bar, rear middle roll bar and rear seat side sections of the roll bar.
The bolt set will have seven 3/8” x 1” bolts w/ rubber coated washers and nuts.
